Rather than beginning from the partitions between subject and object, between the human and the non-human, the research platform on New Ecologies of the Subject examines the terrains through which subjects are formed as such, through which fields are constituted as separate contextual entities.

These assemblages incorporate the human, technology, aesthetic practice, and the environment, as mutually constitutive forces that shape a field, that are the field. These ecologies, environmentalities, allow us to think the lines of subjectivation and the implications of questions around technology, race, and the human as category.
