Isingqala Samanzi/The Call of Water
The CHR's Ukwanda Puppetry Collectivein collaboration with the Staatstheater Augsburg bring "Isingqala Samanzi/The Call of Water" to the Baxter Flipside Theatre from 22 to 24 September 2022 at 20:00 nightly with a Saturday matinee.
“Isingqala Samanzi/The Call of Water” tells the story of a journey on which the audience is taken by performers from Germany and South Africa using puppets created by Ukwanda Puppetry Company. Through a fascinating and poetic interweaving of play styles, languages and mythic repertoires, a global picture of the problem of water scarcity emerges that offers a look at the planetary-wide problem from a different point of view.
