Lindelwa Dalamba is an historian of South African jazz, focusing on its itineraries in the country and in exile during apartheid.  Dalamba is a scholar of music history, modernism and cultural politics and includes an NRF funded project on the musician, writer, journalist and broadcaster Todd Matshikiza: ‘Beyond King Kong: Literary, Historical and Musicological Perspectives on Todd Matshikiza’.
