Cape Youth Congress (CAYCO), Unban the ANC! Forward to Socialism! c. 1988.Silkscreen poster produced and printed at CAP, Cape Town. Artist: Shelley Sacks. CAYCO played an important role in popularising the ANC in the Western Cape in the 1980s, when it was still a banned organisation. It called for not only the unbanning of the ANC but also the release of all political prisoners. As with other organisations of the time, CAYCO was ideologically oriented towards socialism.
