Shazia Salie

Current Fellows: English Department, MA

I am a Masters student based in the English Department, doing research on African Spiritual Narratives with a focus on visual representation in the narrative and slave photography. In my research, I hope to continue to form connections between literature and the visual arts.  Alongside my love for history and literature, I am visually driven and enjoy creating decorative arts and crafts as well as visiting art galleries and festivals. With my undergraduate degree in Language and Communication, I developed a strong interest in contemporary methods of communicating and now serve as the Social Media Manager for “WritingThreeSixty” an interdisciplinary journal rooted in the English Department.
