The CHR is delighted to announce that Patricia Parker has been appointed as extraordinary professor at the CHR, strengthening our partnership with the Institute for the Arts and Humanities (IAH), University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill.

Prof. Parker has a longstanding relationship with UWC, visiting the centre in 2024 and 2025 and collaborating for a number of years to advance the humanities at this critical time in world history. Together we have forged connections with colleagues at Stellenbosch University and Fort Hare, which will culminate in a Global Justice and Humanities Practices Summer Institute at the IAH in June 2026.
