Monika Mehta is Associate Professor of English at State University of New York, Binghamton. She is the author of Censorship and Sexuality in Bombay Cinema (University of Texas Press December 2011; Permanent Black January 2012). Her articles and chapters examining trans/national film regulation; globalization and cultural production in India; DVD compilations; music awards; cinephilia; film distribution; credit sequences; and authorship have appeared in journals and edited collections. She has co-edited Pop Empires: Transnational and Diasporic Flows of Korea and India (University of Hawai’i Press, 2019) and Industrial Networks and Cinemas of India: Shooting Stars, Shifting Geographies and Multiplying Media (Routledge Press, 2020). She is currently working on her monograph, Censorship 2.0: Hindu Nationalism and Media Regulation in Digital India.
