            10th Symposium of the Ghent Africa Platform

            Professor Premesh Lalu, director of the DST-NRF Flagship on Critical Thought in African Humanities, as well as SARChI Chair in Visual History and Theory Professor Patricia Hayes, will be participating in the 10th Symposium of the Ghent Africa Platform. The symposium, held at Ghent University in Belgium from 8-9 December 2016, is organised under the theme ‘Demonstrating the Value of International Collaboration on Teaching and Research’.

            Professor Lalu will deliver the Keynote Lecture titled ‘Breaking the Mold of Disciplinary Area Studies’ on Thursday 8 December 2016.  Professor Patricia Hayes will participate in a round table discussion under the theme ‘How to write or not to write about Africa’ on Thursday 8 December 2016.
